After their critically-acclaimed staging of Next to Normal was cut short due to the global pandemic, Ateneo Blue Repertory now takes to the digital stage with an original musical, Party Worth Crashing. Featuring the renowned music of Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk, the 29th Season Newbie Production is one of the first online musicals produced in the Philippines, remotely filmed and directed over Zoom.

Party Worth Crashing is about youth, coming of age, and learning lessons. It’s about laughing at yourself, and figuring things out on your own. It’s about realizing that with the freedom to do anything comes the responsibility to do something.

The original book by Marty R. Nevada, Ricci Recto, and Robert Gueco Tan, accompanied by Kerrigan and Lowdermilk hits such as “Run Away With Me” and “Say The Word”, is about youth, coming of age, and learning lessons. blueREP’s Party Worth Crashing follows a group of twenty-somethings, all attending a college party, who are forced to confront their struggles with love, relationships, loss, and growing older — all as the future closes in.

Party Worth Crashing was brought onscreen by Director Robert Gueco Tan (Ateneo Fine Arts’ Joe Cool: Aplikante, Spring Awakening, Triple Threat Workshops 2019), alongside Maia Dapul (Next to Normal, Real-Life Fairytales) as Musical Director, Evee Raypon (Urinetown, The Addams Family, Fame) as Movement Designer, Shaun Ocrisma (Tanghalang Ateneo’s Lamon Babae, Gilgamesh) and Yanna Parpan (Spring Awakening, Rent, Fame) as Production Designers, Arvy Dimaculangan (Every Brilliant Thing, Ang Huling El Bimbo, Desaparesidos, Tanghalang Ateneo’s Dolorosa) as Sound Engineer, Ariel Ignacio (O-Film 2017: “Suabe Things”, O-Film 2018: “’18 Going on ’22”, 2018 Loyola Film Circle 20 Demo Reel) and Dana Lee (Ateneo Fine Art’s g(irl): A Devised Twin Bill Thesis Production, Rent) as Graphic Designer, with scoring by LJ Z. Galvez. The team of contemporary artists tackles the online platform alongside the cast and crew composed of university students, exploring the medium in ways never before seen.

Tickets will be available on for January 23, 25, and 29, 2021. The show will be open for viewing any time between 8PM-12AM only. For inquiries, contact Harley Nufable at 0998 860 0813.
